Schools are appealing to staff of BT to volunteer their skills and expertise to help drive school improvement. SGOSS (Governors for Schools) will be in the Hub at lunchtime on Monday 24 June to outline school governor volunteering opportunities in the area. Not only will you be helping to improve schools in your community, but with free training provided by the Local Authority it is an opportunity to develop your skills in a unique educational environment.

The IET have recently launched our “Advantage” programme for developing Engineers and IT professionals. Targeted at those who have graduated in the last five years it provides a goal driven approach to your development and gaining your professional registration. The programme also provides significant reduction on membership fees.
For experienced engineers & IT professionals, The IET revised its professional registration processes making them more user friendly without devaluing the standard. Subsequently we have seen a significant rise in the number of engineers and IT Professional Registering with The IET.
Fellowship of the IET is for individuals who have demonstrated sustained achievements in their profession. Innovative thinking is a characteristic of engineers and technicians. An IET Fellow is defined by it.
Whether you are an existing or prospective member of The IET, we would be happy to provide some guidance on the most appropriate route for you to gain some formal professional recognition.

This event is aid of three charities; Samaritans Purse, The Father’s Heart and Perspectives. If you would like to buy tickets, the organising team will be in the Hub from 11.30 on Wednesday 12 June.

Changing Faces (the leading disfigurement charity in the UK) will be in the Hub at lunchtime on Thursday 6 June to provide information and literature, and also give a demonstration of their Skin Camouflage Service.
Changing Faces (the leading disfigurement charity in the UK) will be in the Hub at lunchtime on Thursday 6 June. Information and literature will be available aimed both at people with any kind of disfigurement to the face, hands or body, helping to build their self-confidence and provide coping skills, but also to the general public to help raise awareness of the issues surrounding disfigurement – such as tackling prejudice and bullying. There will also be a demonstration of their Skin Camouflage Service.
