Thank you to everyone who completed the family fun day feedback form. We’re really pleased to have got such great feedback and ideas for what we could do differently next time. Here’s just a small selection of your comments:

“It was my first visit to the Adastral Park Fun day and I’d definately come again! It is a great day for children and this year the weather was fantastic which helped… One idea for the future may be to have a cake stand – where the money made goes to charity – preferably with cookies, brownies, buns etc to be had on the day (i.e. not whole cakes like at some stalls!)”

“Wow, what a fab day!!!! Thank you so much to all the organisers, it was a really good day with a real mix of events, stalls, fairground rides, face painting, fire engine rides, etc, etc, …..we loved watching the bike show, they were fab! The extra ice cream carts around the site were great and the hog roast went down very well!! We stayed from start to finish and enjoyed it thoroughly, there was something for all ages a really well thought out day and so nice that BT have given something back to their workers. Thank you!!”

“Was a good day – but we found it was focussed too much on kids under 10 and not enough for the 10-16 age or adults.”

“A marvellous day, thank you very much to all involved – my only problem was finding the time to do everything! More of the same next year please! Oh, and perhaps some more competitive elements – e.g. the sack races etc, make these bigger events – I love a good and silly race!”

“Fantasic day, still not enough time to get around it all and see/do all we hoped! A big thank you to all involved with organising it, obviously a massive amount of work went into making it even more successful than last year! Thank you, and well done!”

“The all day free funfair and bouncy castles were a real hit with the kids. More face painters would help reduce the size of the queues. If you could get the PA system extended from the music stage to the arena that would have been good for things like the stunt plane as you got a better view of the place but couldn’t hear any commentary. Might be tricky though I guess to get the wires across the road. We missed the showcase as it wasn’t signposted very well.”

“Well done to everyone involved. My family was entertained for 4 hours and had a really great day. I have a 3 year old daughter and 5 year old son and they loved the bouncy castles, the fire engine rides, the merry-go-round, the helicopter displays, the live bands and the face painting. To top it off the food was good and we all loved the Mr Softy ice creams.
Thanks for providing a real ‘feel good about working at Adastral’ day that made me appreciate the environment we work in – sometimes you take for granted what you see on a daily basis. I know putting something like this together takes a lot of hard work, dedication, teamwork and good will from a wide range of people.
Well Done and many thanks to everyone involved in making the day a great success.”

“It was a superb day. The additional food outlets solved the big queues of last year – and the kids really enjoyed the funfair rides. The bands playing on the stage worked really well and made comfortable listening wherever you were. Thanks for putting the effort into organising it – a great day out.”

“The Fun Day was excellent!! My two children (aged 8 and 3) had a whale of a time, and both thought it was as good as some days out that they have had where we have paid 30-40 pounds for tickets! My three-year-old boy loved the fire engine rides and the fire demos, and still tells me about them most days (even though I was there!). My daughter really enjoyed the circus-type activities and the galloper. The bouncey castles and the climbing wall also went down very well. I very much hope that this will become an annual event, and would like to thank everyone envolved for organising it so well. These are the events that make you feel proud to be part of BT.”

“I thought it was absolutely excellent. My family had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed it. My 4 year old especially thought it was brilliant – the fun fair, the various bouncy castles etc. I could not fault it in anyway – a great day out and a good way to say thankyou to family’s who provide indirect support to BT by tollerating the long hours their mums and dads sometimes do. The only thing we missed from last year was the trip up the tower and the ability to show my daughters “Daddys desk” – which for some reason they thought was great last year.”

“We had an excellent time – which is saying something for a family with two teenagers! Not so much going on so that it became ‘too much’, but enough to make it interesting and fun – just right we thought. You also planned the weather very well! The scalextric was a good idea but a combination of unreliable cars and no supervision made it less enjoyable – the console games area was good though. Well done, and we look forward to another one.”
