Wednesday 16th March, Alan Rudge Lecture Theatre, Antares building, 12:30-13:30

Cradle to Cradle design or Circular Economy (C2C, CE) is a regenerative and biomimetic approach to the redesign of existing human systems that are nearly always linear – that is take, make, discard. CE models human industry on nature’s processes in which materials are viewed as nutrients circulating in healthy, safe metabolisms. Corporate greenwash? A rant against global consumerism out of control? Some incredible emerging materials and process technologies? You decide.

This talk will be given by Matthew Polaine, an Industrial Design engineer for over 20 years and has been championing the CE within BT Innovate & Design, and BT’s Lines of Business. He is also part of a team charged with a CE Vision working with BT Retail and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, of which BT is a founding member.
