In partnership with the charity Bookbridge, UK Scouts are collecting unwanted books to send to Cambodia and Mongolia to create libraries to help children and people learn English. Any unwanted books, CD’s, DVD’s, VHS videos, or teaching materials (e.g. alphabet posters etc.) can be placed in the box located by the old Post Office in the Hub. Any English language materials would also be useful, particularly picture, children’s and young adults’ books that are easy to read. The more illustrated and simple a book is the better. Teaching resources like dictionaries, atlases and encyclopedias would be especially welcome. It does not matter if the books etc. are worn or battered as long as they are still readable / watchable. The box will be available for collections up until 8 July.
