Following last year’s successful Back to Badminton sessions, Woodbridge Badminton Club (formerly Adastral Park Badminton Club), based at Farlingaye Sports Hall, Woodbridge, has managed to secure funding for another series starting in April.
Club chairman, Dave Johnson said, “We’re very grateful to Sport England for supporting us once again. This year we’re opening it up to men and women.”
The club, one of the largest in Suffolk, is hoping to find some hidden talent in and around Woodbridge by targeting those who have stopped playing and are thinking about starting again and those who would just like to try the sport. Dave adds, “It went really well last year with four new women playing in our teams this season.”
The sessions will be on Tuesdays from 2 April 2013 and run until the end of April from 19:30 to 22:00 at Farlingaye Sports Hall. Session organiser, Sandra Berrisford, said, “They are free and all people have to do is turn up and play. We’ll even provide racquets if necessary.”
For more information, email the club on firstname.lastname@example.org or just turn up on the night.
