It’s nearly 45 years since the Post Office moved its R&D facilities from Dollis Hill in London to Adastral Park. There’s less pure research these days, but Adastral Park is still very much the hub of BT’s technical design and development. All of which means a rich and varied history. That’s why a group of us believe it’s time we started collecting, saving and sharing the heritage. Let’s not forget fibre optics, System X, Prestel and much much more!

We’re an informal group at present, but we have a vision, working towards a permanent heritage display area on site, inviting visitors ranging from those here on business, to schools and community groups.

We’re keen to hear from you, especially if you’re about to leave BT. Do you have a story to tell? Are you interested in being part of the group or do you just want to keep up with our progress? Either way, we’ve set up our first website which explains a little more and also guides you to a quick survey to enable us to capture your interests. We’re also holding a drop-in session in the Hub from 11.45 to 13.30 on Thursday 27 March.
