Leah is a security researcher in BT's Cyber Defence team at Adastral Park. She is currently working on developing machine learning techniques for anomaly detection applied to network security, as well as experimenting with novel visualisation methods for analysis. Since joining BT in 2014 she has held positions in software, network engineering, and data science teams.

Achievements for the award:
Leah has developed a novel machine learning algorithm that helps identify anomalies on the network. She has presented her work at high profile events, and is an advocate for inspiring diversity in technology.

Winning the prestigious award is a great achievement for Leah and an important recognition for BT Research and BT Security. “The Security Leader of the Year” title reflects well the role Leah has been playing in BT both in terms of the technical research she does but also in evangelising Cyber Security to a wide variety of audiences to attract more talent particularly among women into this important area."
