We are delighted to be launching virtual British Science Week from 14th – 18th March 2022. The theme this year is "Growth" and we are really excited to be supporting a special week of activities for schools, with input from experts across BT, industry and academia.

For the first four days of British Science Week, we will explore a different part of STEM. The final day will then feature 'STEM in action', where we look at Robotics and focus on how all parts of STEM are required to work together for this area of Technology. The content is idea for years 6 – 13 (ages 10 – 18).

What to expect!

Visit our Virtual British Science web page and meet Luke Johnson, our STEM Engagement & Customer Showcases Research Manager at BT, who will tell you all about what to expect during this exciting week.

On the website we also introduce you to our hosts for the week – Steph Bally, Ose Uadiale and Dan McHugh. You will see more of them in the introduction videos for each day during British Science Week and they will also pop up throughout the pages to provide extra guidance and context.

Monday 14th March - Science: Digital Forensics
Tuesday 15th March - Technology: Software
Wednesday 16th March - Engineering: Digital Manufacturing
Thursday 17th March - Mathematics: Evolution of Computing
Friday 18th March - STEM in Action: Robotics

For each subject, you will be able to watch multiple videos and download the 'have a go' activity pack. The kit list is available now!

Join us for live Q&A sessions each day with the experts, from 14:00 – 14:45 on Zoom. These sessions will be run through a moderated stream – cameras and mics will be off – and questions will be moderated before appearing on the screen. Simply register and the Zoom details will be emailed through to you.

Read our supporting profile cards introducing you to the experts – a chance to learn about their jobs, qualifications and a fun fact or two!

Don't forget - if you take part in the activities and watch the videos, it will all count towards the Youth STEMM Awards!

This is our second British Science Week. The content from our first week is still available on our British Science Week 2021 site, where we explored the subjects of cyber security, smart cities, creative media, drones and health & sports science

A massive thanks to University of Suffolk; The Open University; Rolls Royce; University of Cambridge and University of Essex for supporting and being part of this exciting week!

All of this amazing content will enhance our existing online virtual learning videos we have produced to support the school curriculum. British Science Week is a fantastic opportunity to tap into young bright minds and a great way to explore key hot topics in a fun and engaging way.
