Reaching out to the wider community and showcasing what happens at Adastral Park is key to our presence, as well as inspiring children and students.
We had 3 locations at the Show - the
Adastral Park technology marquee; the
the BT Armed Forces Network & Openreach within the Armed Forces location areas, plus a special
Adastral Park heritage marquee in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration area.
A ceaser cipher code breaking activity took children to each of our locations at the Show - Solving the code breaking clues to win prizes.
The Technology marquee provided hands on demos, including coding; IoT sensors; Security; virtual learning experiences; 5G EdgeXR; health and innovation and robotics. A big thank you to our colleagues in BT;
Mvine,
Sound Extensions;
Dance East and
DigiTech Centre for supporting the marquee.
The BT Armed Forces Network and Openreach showcased that they are one of the largest recruiters of ex-military personnel and highlighted existing opportunities, as well as interactive activities.
We were delighted to be awarded the best marquee supporting education! Well done to the fantastic team!
As part of the Show's celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, we had a Heritage marquee presence which celebrated the technology journey during the Queen's 70 year reign. Visitors had the opportunity to dial up stories on 1970's telephones and listening to stories from Adastral Park, to exploring a 1970's GPO telephone exchange, sitting in the GPO green van and taking an immersive VR experience and "climb" the Bawdsey radar tower.
A massive thank you to everyone involved: BT volunteers;
BT Archives;
Chronicle Digital Storytelling and
Bawdsey Radar.
