Adastral Team Award for Sustainability
Congratulations to the Adastral team for being awarded the Elior Sustainability Star of the month for July for their Plant + Plate initiative!
The team has planted an incredible 92 plants in a dis-used space on-site with the help of BT volunteers.
The transformed space now boasts a thriving range of edible produce including seasonal fruit, vegetables, herbs, edible flowers and potted fruit trees. They are re-using barista coffee grounds as fertilizer and a natural repellent, as well as turning food scraps into compost which is used in the kitchen garden.
Their efforts are already paying off, with produce grown on-site now being served in hospitality and plans to include produce in the Bistro are already under way.
This inspiring initiative supports biodiversity, colleague mental and physical wellbeing, as well as reducing our carbon footprint and reducing food costs.
