BT's Gary Bruce, David Cherrill and Trevor Lovelock + colleagues from Intel and BearingPoint//Beyond
Big cheers for our Digital Business Marketplace project, whose award entry team, led by BT, recently picked up the Global Telecoms award for ‘Digital Transformation Innovation’. It comes on top of winning the TM Forum award for ‘Best Catalyst for Innovation’ in May.

Our congrats also go to Accenture, AWS, BearingPoint//Beyond, Digiglu and Intel - they’ve been integral to the development and success of the project.

Currently in development, with a view to launching as a proposition, Digital Business Marketplace will allow customers to select, configure and buy anything and everything on their Smartphone as self-service. For ‘Industry 4.0’ scenarios, such as Smart Retail, Smart Health and Smart Factory, enterprise customers will be able to order products and services for new site locations; configure the devices and services to run on those sites; and configure the network and service connectivity from a simple shopping cart experience, or through a sales-assisted journey.

This second award is a strong signal from the industry that our frictionless trading ecosystem platform, coupled with secure zero-touch device technologies, is a winning combination to automate and orchestrate the delivery of technologies (like 5G, edge computing, universal customer premises equipment, distributed ledgers, IoT, AI and robotics) needed for secure supply chains and Industry 4.0.
