Data Product Owner, BT.

Key qualifications: MSc Telecommunication Engineering, BSc Business Information Systems.

What does your job involve? I love getting lost in the data, simplifying intricate data sets into clear, engaging narratives that drive decision-making and innovation.

How did you get into your current role? My passion lies at the intersection of data analysis, innovative technology, and logical problem-solving. This is a change in career direction, however; I've found BT have always supported career moves that align with my interests.

What did you want to be when you were younger? Wolverine - don't judge me...

What do you do outside work? Outside of work I'm a sports enthusiast, volunteer, and proud parent, bringing energy and creativity to every aspect of life.

Customer Experience Centre Manager, BT.

Key qualifications: Geography with Business (BA Hons and CIM) and Level 6 Apprenticeship in Professional Marketing.

What does your job involve? My job is to run our Customer Experience Centre in London, where BT hosts Business customers from around the world, to showcase to them how technology and innovation can transform their organisations. The aim of these customer tours is to inspire customers, improve their perceptions of the brand, and help BT create new revenue opportunities.

How did you get into your current role? I started on the Vodafone Sales & Customer Experience Graduate scheme, as I knew I wanted to go into the world of business but was uncertain on what area. As a graduate I went on a tour to visit the Vodafone Customer Experience Centre (CEC), and thought working in a CEC would be the coolest job ever! After undertaking a series of roles, I had stayed in touch with the CEC Manager, who let me know she was moving jobs. I then interviewed for the role to run Vodafone's UK CEC's and was successful! I then came across the opportunity to run BT's Global Customer Experience Centre's which is how I've ended up here.

What did you want to be when you were younger? Actress.

What do you do outside work? I really enjoy being outdoors, particularly running and cycling. The competitive part of me enjoys taking part in races to test myself. I also love cooking and eating, ensuring I try new recipes and restaurants whenever I can!

Senior Diversity Equity and Inclusion Lead, BT.

Key qualifications: BA (Hons), Assoc CIPD, CIPR.

What does your job involve? I use my subject matter expertise on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues by applying a deep understanding of equality legislation, diversity data and research evidence into designing positive action initiatives in a national and international environment. The best thing about the job is trialling interventions to help make the workplace feel more inclusive for all of our people.

How did you get into your current role? I have worked in the field for over a decade, currently working for BT Group. Prior to that I worked in organisations such as being the Head of Diversity and Inclusion at the Cabinet Office which included looking after the Prime Minister's Office as well as Government Digital Service and the Government Equalities Office. Prior to that I have had DEI roles at Acas, Judicial Appointments Commission and the Home Office.

What did you want to be when you were younger? I wanted to be a cricketer.

What do you do outside work? My passion is to help people. One way I do this is that I am the operational lead volunteer for our Friday (Juma) and Ramadan night prayers at the iconic Cambridge Central Mosque. This is the largest eco-friendly mosque in Western Europe. I want to make sure visitors, local or global, have a great experience when visiting our local Mosque

Customer Experience Centre Planning Lead, BT.

Key qualifications: Level 3 Business Admin and studying towards my Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Chartered Management.

What does your job involve? In my current role I am responsible for planning the agendas and sessions for our customer visits to Aurora, BT's Customer Experience Centre. Each agenda, tour and visit is unique to the customer and we tailor each to produce productive and inspiring outcomes.

How did you get into your current role? I am in this role as part of my four year apprenticeship scheme, this is my second rotation. Previously, I completed a rotation in the Media & Broadcast department.

What did you want to be when you were younger? If I remember correctly, a bakery owner or a teacher!

What do you do outside work? I enjoy being active outside of work, either in the gym or going for a walk/run, but I also love cooking and baking.

QA Software Engineering Professional, BT.

Key qualifications: BSc in Digital & Technology Solutions. BTEC Level 3 Extended in IT.

What does your job involve? My job involves testing new applications and services created within the Digital sector of BT. I get to explore some of the extraordinary range of products that BT are involved with on a global level.

How did you get into your current role? I started my career as a software apprentice 4 years ago and worked in a variety of roles during rotations. Once my apprenticeship came to an end, I assimilated into the team I'm currently with!

What did you want to be when you were younger? As a kid I always loved technology and knew that was the route I wanted to take. As I grew up, I naturally became more attracted to coding via my own websites and apps which led me to pursuing a career in Software.

What do you do outside work? Outside of work I am into gaming, fashion, and cars. I mainly love sneakers and FPS video games.

What does your job involve? Currently I am working in the Talent Team running our Graduate Programme and supporting the future strategy for Talent and Careers. Through this work I've had the opportunity to explore how we connect with young people; one of the areas I am focussing on is Work Experience.

How did you get into your current role? Despite being a recent University Grad, I took advantage of the 10,000 Black Interns programme to get my current internship.

What did you want to be when you were younger? I wanted to be so many things, but I really wanted to be a teacher.

What do you do outside work? I really enjoy roller skating and ice skating when I can! Besides that, you can find me somewhere with a good book.

Graduate Software Engineer, BT.

Key qualifications: Maths, Computing, English Literature A Levels.

What does your job involve? My job involves a lot of problem solving and code development - whether it's creating new functionality within an existing program or fixing a bug. The best part of my job is the satisfaction of developing code that works and adds value.

How did you get into your current role? I completed a Code First Girls Software Engineering Nanodegree which is a 14-week bootcamp to prepare you for your Software Engineering role.

What did you want to be when you were younger? As a child I wanted to be a fashion designer! However, throughout my school and college years, I definitely knew I wanted a career in tech - I just didn't know how to get there (without the traditional university route) until I found Code First Girls.

What do you do outside work? I love going for walks to anywhere that has a good view of the sunset. I also really enjoy crocheting in my free time.

What does your job involve? I work on the evolution of the Sales Channels by focussing on the efficiency improvements that can be made.

How did you get into your current role? I joined the Commercial Management Industrial Placement and Graduate scheme.

What did you want to be when you were younger? A doctor! Until I shortly realised science wasn't my strong suit...

What do you do outside work? I have a small sculptural candle business on the side called The Cosy Candle Club! This is my creative space where I get to switch off with candle making.

Key qualifications: Green Belt in Six Sigma.

What does your job involve? I'm accountable for leading teams across BT CFUs and business partners to develop and launch profitable products as part of the BT Portfolio Strategy, focusing on Core Connectivity.

How did you get into your current role? I began my journey at BT as a Supply Chain Aftersales Apprentice, during which I successfully achieved certification as a Green Belt in Six Sigma. Soon after, I began a role in Transformation, being accountable for the innovation of cellular products. I've recently changed roles into Project Management which has been an area I've always wanted to work in and I'm excited for the next chapter!

What did you want to be when you were younger? A vet! I later realised I'm actually very squeamish...

What do you do outside work? I normally spend my evenings in the gym and when I have free time I love baking.

Key qualifications: Science Degree, Business Master, certified Scrum master and Product Owner.

What does your job involve? I am responsible for closing legacy system stacks by migrating them onto new products or new IT stacks. My role involves understanding business requirements to change, translating them into pillars of work, making sure we have the right cadence, and keeping our decision-makers updated. I love working with a diverse group of people who all focus on our migration goals!

How did you get into your current role? I started in BT Hong Kong as a network engineer, and have had promotions to take on bigger and better roles. I have worked in technical, business and consulting roles and am now in a leadership role. I'm delighted with the depth and breadth of career opportunities I have at BT!

What did you want to be when you were younger? Professional Badminton player.

What do you do outside work? I volunteer at a Foodbank, am part of an Independent monitor board, I'm a School governor and now part of Abilitynet.

Key qualifications: BSc Digital and Technology Solutions.

What does your job involve? My job involves designing and developing web and mobile applications for businesses and consumers to address customer needs, solve user's problems, and provide meaningful experiences. My favourite aspect of the job is collaboration and teamwork as it means I'm always gauging different perspectives and constantly learning from others.

How did you get into your current role? I completed a degree apprenticeship which involved on-the-job learning alongside university studies.

What did you want to be when you were younger? Forensic pathologist. A medical examiner who determines the cause of death of those who passed away under suspicious circumstances.

What do you do outside work? My favourite hobby is travelling as I love learning about other cultures and immersing myself in different communities and traditions (as well as trying new food!). So far I've been to 15 countries, 5 of which were solo.
