Digital Industries showcase launch
We'll be launching a brand-new showcase experience at the Robotics festival: Digital Industries. Come and explore how the digital world is impacting industries such as manufacturing, energy, supply chain and much more.

Our newest showcase, Digital Industries, is tackling the heart of the digital revolutions occurring in the manufacturing and engineering sectors. The showcase includes over 50 demonstrations - at the heart of which is how the management and the agnostic aggregation of IoT data can be used to develop the automation of processes and increase sustainability over secure comprehensive network connectivity solutions, including, private 5G, satellites and more.
Mike Williams, Customer Centre, Downstreaming Research and Innovation Manager, and lead on the new showcases' development, said "Digital industries provides a journey of technological solutions from raw materials to sustainability. With demos from BT Applied Research and collaborative companies, we aim to show the possibilities for the future. From human to robot haptic interfaces to computer vision technologies, we are always amazed at the speed at which technology is enabling digital industries to develop safely, securely and also sustainably. We hope you will be amazed and inspired too."
Robotics & Drone lab
Location: Meet at the desk near the cash machine in The Hub Map and walk to Rigel Map
Robotics lab
Come and visit our new Robotics & Drone Lab to see our underground and overhead (pole) test-bed facilities and see some of the weird and wonderful prototype robot devices that we are working on to: dig tunnels under footways and gardens for cable deployment; travel through underground ducts to deal with blockages; and travel from pole-to-pole to maintain or replace existing cables.
We will also be providing an overview of our cyber-physical systems research area – examining how to incorporate autonomous air or ground-based vehicles into the services which we offer our customers.
Innovation Showcases
Location: Sirius » Customer Centre Map - please use main entrance
The Innovation Showcases provide nine situational environments where we aim to show visitors the art of the possible which can be created from the latest technologies from across all spectrums of industry and application. From our own research, to collaborations and beyond, you will be wowed by the possibilities today's technologies can bring to you, your businesses, your homes, and the world.
From the wonders of fibre, to private 5G, satellites, drones, holograms and 3D technologies without the need of headsets, our showcases hold over 350 demonstrations of purpose filled technologies which can provide timely and insightful solutions to the challenges of visitors no matter the problem (even those you didn't know you had!).
