Anna Nitch-Smith
Chief Operating Officer, CISL

Anna is a Chartered Environmentalist with over 20 years' experience as a sustainability expert. She is part of the Senior Leadership Team who take ultimate responsibility for driving forward CISL's mission to activate leadership globally to transform economies for people, nature and climate. Within CISL, Anna is responsible for overseeing all global operations functions which underpin the mission for impact. This included acting as CISL's lead on the final stages of the Entopia Building (1 Regent Street) retrofit.


Anna is a member of the Institute for Apprenticeship's "Green Apprenticeships and Technical Education Advisory Panel" where she advises on how the IfA can achieve its green vision. Prior to joining CISL in 2021, Anna was a Board Director at Waterman Infrastructure & Environment, a multinational engineering and environmental consultancy. For several years, she led Waterman's environmental due diligence and ESG practice internationally. Anna has an MA in Geography from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College.
