Statistics evidence that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men are impacted by domestic abuse (DA) in their lifetime.

We know that DA is a very underreported crime, so even though these stats are high, they do not represent the real picture, and it is likely that we will all at some point come into contact with someone who is a victim of domestic abuse, either in our personal life or in the work place. So…

If someone were to disclose to you that they are a victim of DA , what would you do? Would you know how to respond? Or how NOT to respond?

This 2 hour workshop will challenge some of the myths around domestic abuse and its causes, and discuss the impact of the 2021 statutory guidance that places a duty of care on employers to safeguard employees from DA.

The session will also cover:
• How to spot signs that a person may be experiencing domestic abuse
• How to respond to disclosures
• Discuss how managers can contribute to safety planning
• Signposting for support and how Lighthouse adds value to businesses and organisations in Suffolk

This session is open to all residents of Adastral park.

To access the hothouse expansion area, please use the lift or the stairs past the Tommy Flowers Theatre in Antares and make your way to the 3rd floor.
