Following the success of the open lunchtime in the lead up to Christmas, we are once again opening the doors for another lunchtime drop in session on 23rd April between 12:00 and 14:00.
Come and meet some of the team and students from the University of Suffolk’s Suffolk Sustainability Institute and the BT Future Smart Infrastructure team to learn about the latest project work being undertaken.
The University of Suffolk Smart House project is a collaborative research facility that aims to demonstrate the regional capacity for the design, build and occupation of sustainable homes.
The building is easy to maintain and comfortable, offering a vision for a sustainable way of life that enhances lifestyles and acts as a template for future domestic homes.
The Smart House is a living laboratory and demonstrator by the University of Suffolk (UoS) and a range of third-party innovation partners – including BT, local services and other universities.
The Smart House is a two-storey smart home built by fully sustainable means, with solar panels, rainwater collection, highly efficient heating and cooling, and biodiverse planting.
It is also fully sensor-enabled, with smart controls to be as efficient as possible. It's a real insight into what homes of the future will look like.
We hope this will be an ever evolving-base for sensor-enabled home/smart living technologies and advancements in the future!
